Jazz Band

The Fort Mill High School Jazz Band is a select ensemble performing a range of jazz styles — swing, Latin, funk, and contemporary jazz. It is open to all students by audition and meets after school several times a week. Members perform at school concerts, community events, and jazz festivals throughout the year.

Jazz Band is not a separate class, so members must be enrolled in a band course, play at an advanced level, and keep up all the requirements of their concert band while putting in extra hours on the jazz charts. Members also attend evening rehearsals ahead of performances. The ensemble headlines the annual Jazz Night in March, sponsored by the Fort Mill High School Band Boosters, and plays community functions and school concerts around town.
